Luxury London Hotel Launches All-Vegan Afternoon Tea
5-star London hotel InterContinental London Park Lane in Mayfair is celebrating Veganuary with a vegan afternoon tea.
Hotel’s pastry team has created a unique vegan afternoon tea menu to ensure that vegan guests have an “equally delicious experience of the time-old British tradition.”
Vegan guests can try maple syrup-roasted butternut squash and spinach tart followed by an array of colourful vegetable-filled sandwiches. The sandwich fillings include Tandoori spiced mushroom, piquillo pepper mousse with charcoal bread, char-kissed zucchini ribbons, shallot jam with white bread, Heritage tomatoes, smoked aubergine puree with turmeric bread and avocado hummus with beetroot bread.
Additionally, the guests can enjoy a selection of scones including classic sultana scones with strawberry preserve.
Among the desserts, there are chia seed puddings and a rich chocolate banana cake. There’s also a coconut rice pudding topped with diced mangoes and a raspberry mousse pipped onto a crisp matcha shortbread biscuit.
The afternoon tea menu includes a glass of Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne, but guests participating in Dry January can choose non-alcoholic botanical cocktails.
The Vegan Tea is available until the end of January and costs £65 per person (including a glass of champagne). You can opt for the £94 package where you will enjoy unlimited Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut champagne for 90 minutes.
