Swedish Vegan Food Brand Celebrates Sales Success in The UK
UK sales for Swedish vegan meat brand Oumph! Have grown by 400% in the first quarter of 2020 compared with the same period in 2019.
The most successful products of the Swedish plant-based alternative producer are its pulled meat, kebab and its ‘Oumph! Burger’.
Oumph! retail manager Laura Weadock said: “The positive development is thanks to increased consumer demand and wider distribution, as well as a strong launch in Tesco with Oumph! Sticky Smokehouse in January, successful campaigns during Veganuary and National Vegetarian Week, coupled with the current increase in demand for plant-based foods.”
Oumph!’s sales success followed the launch into the food-to-go market in September last year in partnership with Bristol-based Real Wrap Co.
The range that was launched into universities and hospitals feature both cold and hot eats including a ‘Philly Style’ Sourdough Hot Pocket and BBQ Sriracha Baguette.
Oumph! plant-based meat brand was launched in Sweden in 2015. Its products are made from soya beans, herbs and spices and are dairy-free and gluten-free.
Growing consumer concerns associated with the consumption of meat products –are driving the sales of plant-based meat alternatives around the world.
