One of the hottest meat alternative brands in Europe - Heura has scored a successful product launch in the UK.
Its vegan chicken products sold out within the first days after the launch!
Heura entered the UK market last week launching its plant-based chicken at TheVeganKind Supermarket - the biggest online vegan store in the country.
Commenting on the launch CEO and co-founder Marc Coloma, said: "The UK is the fastest-growing plant-based food market in Europe, and coupled with Heura's growth it means this is the right time for us to enter the UK market."
The company makes hyper-realistic vegan chicken that looks and tastes like the real thing. It's high in protein, iron and B12. It is gluten-free and preservative-free.
Heura's chicken is made with soy protein, salt and spices sourced in Europe. The company claims it is the only meat alternative in the world made with olive oil. It is one of the healthiest plant-based protein products on the market.
The products come in a new sustainable packaging designed to reduce 12.85 tons of plastic.
Heura is a plant-based food startup from Barcelona founded by Marc Coloma and Bernat Añaños in April 2017. The company is on the mission to find solutions that will leave the current food system obsolete and accelerate the transition to an animal-free consumption.
Today, it's one of the fastest-growing plant-based meat alternative startups in Europe.
The brand reflects the Mediterranean culinary tradition: high nutritional values and outstanding taste. It offers plant-based chicken meat in three versions: Original Strips, Original Chunks and Mediterranean Chunks.
Original Strips proved to be the most popular among British consumers.
Coloma said: "We trust in the outstanding nutritional value of our products: our products have a clean label, are among the healthiest available, and our Mediterranean heritage means that we are the only plant-based meat made with olive oil."
The UK is the country with the highest number of new vegan food products launched in 2018. The latest reports show that by 2025 almost half of the country's population will become 'flexitarian'.
According to research company Mintel, currently, 65% of the British population buys and consumes plant-based meat. The data indicates that consumers are increasingly changing their purchasing behaviour and gravitating towards a more sustainable and ethical alternative.
