This is news every vegan has been waiting for!

Swiss food giant Nestlé is soon launching vegan version of KitKat chocolate bars in 2021.

The first news coming from the insider were revealed by Vegan Food UK, a popular among vegans website sharing food news and reviews with accounts on Facebook, YouTube channel, and Instagram account.

The group  posted a picture of the new chocolate product on Instagram and wrote:

“OMG! This is HUGE NEWS. VEGAN KITKATS ARE COMING!” Vegan Food UK wrote on Instagram.

“We can’t say our source, but Vegan KitKats are coming to the UK market…”

Nestlé confirmed it is launching a non-dairy version of the popular bar, today. The vegan-friendly version will be called KitKat V.

The Swiss company promises the new treat still has the "perfect balance between crispy wafer and smooth chocolate."

KitKat V recipe replaced dairy milk for a rice-based alternative and will be made with new sustainable cocoa, according to Bloomberg.

The new bar will available later this year in several countries at select retailers before expanding worldwide.

"Taste was a key factor when developing the plant-based chocolate for our new vegan KitKat," said Louise Barrett, head of the Nestlé Confectionery Product Technology Center,  in a statement.

"We used our expertise in ingredients, together with a test and learn approach, to create a delicious vegan alternative to our original chocolate KitKat."

The trend for plant-based products, according to Alexander von Maillot, Nestlé's head of confectionery, continues to grow.

"There is a quiet food revolution underway that is changing how people eat. We want to be at the forefront of that, championing the discovery of plant-based food and beverages," he said in the statement.
