5 Minute Vegan Cheese Sauce
1 cup cashews
1 cup unsweetened almond milk
6 tbsp nutritional yeast
1 tsp smoked paprika
1 tsp mustard powder
1 tsp smoked garlic granules
Salt and pepper
This simple 5 minute vegan cheese sauce is so easy and quick to make with things you probably already have in your kitchen cupboard! It is packed with smoky cheesy flavours, and it’s super creamy and very versatile – we love it with nachos!
- Blend the cashews and almond milk in a high speed blender, for about a minute. If you don’t have a high speed blender, soak the cashews in hot water for half an hour then drain before blending.
- Once smooth, add the remaining ingredients and blend again until the consistency is smooth and creamy.
- Enjoy straight away or keep in the fridge in a sealed container. Keep in mind it will thicken when chilled and may need thinning with some more almond milk.
- Mix it into macaroni, have it on top of pizza, use it in lasagne, pour over chips to make cheesy chips or serve it as a dip with crisps or vegetables for an indulgent snack! The possibilities are endless with this quick, easy and cheesy sauce!
Notes: Smoked garlic granules give a deeper, smoked flavour but regular garlic granules will work too.
